JOIN NOWIf you've ever thought…
“I'm doing everything and nothing is happening.”
You post. But your work isn't selling, or not as regularly as you'd like.
“It feels like shouting into the void.”
As one artist told us, posting your work on Instagram is like throwing a stone into the sea and watching the ripples disappear.
“My followers are all other artists.”
It's nice to know they like your work. But you'd really want buyers, curators and gallery directors to follow your page too.
“I haven't started, and I don't know what to do first.”
You keep meaning to build or update your website. You haven't started your Instagram yet, or you've left it abandoned for months.
“I'd rather be making work than posting about it.”
Every hour you spend on marketing is an hour you're not in the studio.
These are the things artists tell us every single week. They are exactly what this course is here to change.
What if the right people were finding your work?
You know who your audience actually is, and it is not “everyone”
You know what a gallery director looks for, and you make sure it's on your Instagram and your website
Your website shows your work in its best light and makes it easy for people to buy it
Your Instagram brings new people in, instead of eating into your studio time
Your newsletter gets people to your exhibitions, sells your work, and leads to new invitations to exhibit
You don't need to work it out by trial and error
Most artists learn this the slow way. A few posts, a bit of a website, an email to a gallery that never gets answered, and no way of telling which part of it was worth the effort.
You just need somebody to show you how it actually works, and we have been doing this for 35 years.
INTRODUCING
The Visible Artist
5Â weeks to a website, an Instagram and a newsletter that get your work seen and sold
Artist stories, in their own words
“I've just been offered representation from a wonderful gallery. A year ago I wouldn't have dreamt of showing with them, let alone being represented. You gave me the confidence and direction to develop my website and Instagram to show that I am busy and have a voice.”
Amanda Sumpter, sculptor and painter
“Through The Visible Artist course, I gained the knowledge, tools and confidence to build my website, grow my Instagram, and successfully hold my solo exhibition this year.
Your guidance made all the difference.
A number of my paintings sold during and after the exhibition, and three of my works are now on display at a major exhibition.”
Vibha Pankaj, painter
“I changed a few things around on my website, added a button to buy, and made my first totally unsolicited sale.”
Mark Tweedie, photographer and printmaker
“I've been offered a month-long solo show by one of the two galleries I have been pursuing. This is incredible, and only happening because of your advice. Thank you for the amazing advice for my website and my Instagram.”
Nicola Beattie, sculptor
What's in the course
5Â modules taking you step by step
Week 1. You, your goal and your audience
Who you are as an artist, what you are actually aiming for, and who you need to reach. Then what buyers and collectors, galleries, commissioners and funders each look for, drawn from 35 years in the art world.
Week 2. Your website
Exactly what to put on it, and what to leave off, so it's simple to build and to keep up to date, and doesn't ask you to be technical. We show you the what, the why and the how, with real examples from artists working in every medium.
Week 3. Your newsletter
How to start one, or rescue the list you already have, and how to write emails that encourage people to visit your exhibitions, purchase your work, or invite you to take part in more exhibitions.
Week 4. Your Instagram
What to post, how often, and how to be found by the buyers, curators and gallery directors you want to see your work, rather than only by other artists.
Week 5. More reach, less time
Time-saving tips and shortcuts from decades in the art world and on social media, so you don't have to work it out on your own.
You get instant access to all 5 modules the moment you join, so you can go at your own pace. You also get lifetime access, so you can come back to the course any time you need it.

Artist stories
“This course really helped me see the importance of treating my art as a professional practice, and to start thinking of myself as an artist… The advice about building my website was particularly helpful. Another shift was the way you talked about the art world… It gave me the confidence to get involved and become part of it. Even taking small steps can create changes you might not expect.”
Maria Pelton, painter
“You've given me confidence in myself as an artist. Your advice gave me the necessary steps to get my Instagram and website up and running. The result? I exhibited in a local gallery, sold a print, 2 large paintings, and received 2 commissions, all while on a painting holiday in Tuscany!”
Karen J. Grant, painter
“I have found it transformative. Thanks to your advice, I have a newly designed website and a more purposeful Instagram with steadily rising numbers and, more importantly, engagement.”
Catrin O'Hara, digital and drawing artist
“It has been fantastic in helping me to sort out how to present my work, use social media, and build my confidence, all with the wonderful support of the Parker Harris team, resulting in more sales and exhibition opportunities.”
Clare Buckle, painter, printmaker and collage artist
“I did a complete overhaul of my open studio this June and significantly increased visitor numbers and sales. I've gone for quality posting on Instagram, and a cleaner website, and gained commissions too.”
Sue Houghton, painter

❌ A big following
❌ A finished website
❌ Professional photographs
❌ A long CV
❌ To be any good with technology
This works for artists at every stage. Many artists started the course without an Instagram or a website at all.
WHO WE ARE
Emma, Penny and Marine
Emma Parker and Penny Harris founded Parker Harris in 1990 to create opportunities for artists to get their work seen and sold. 35 years later they run some of the UK's leading art prizes and open exhibitions, and they spend their working lives with the gallery directors, curators, collectors and funders you are trying to reach.
Marine joined seven years ago and runs the marketing, the mentoring programme and the courses. She has been growing Instagram accounts for over a decade, for Parker Harris, Artist Mentoring, the Derwent Art Prize, ING Discerning Eye and Wells Art Contemporary.
Between us we have helped over 1,000 artists become more visible, and the results have included artwork sales, gallery representation, commissions, funding and exhibition opportunities.

What you'll walk away with
You'll know exactly who your work is for, and where those people are looking.
A website that shows your work in its best light. Curated and professional, it makes it easy for people to buy your work or get in touch.
An Instagram that brings new people to your work. Buyers, curators and gallery directors, not only other artists.
A newsletter that brings people to your exhibitions, sells your work, and leads to new invitations to exhibit.
Doors close Tuesday 15 September at 5pm UK time. We only run this live once a year.
You're more ready than you think
If you're waiting until the website is finished, or until you have enough work, or until somebody else calls you a professional artist, you could be waiting a very long time.
Almost every artist we mentor arrives believing they need more than they actually need. Some think they're too old. Some think their work isn't good enough yet. Some think they need a bigger following first.
You don't have to be ready. You have to start.
